Roller Disco Returns with MIDNIGHT MAGIC!

Hot on the heels, or should we say skates, of the fab Peanut Butter Wolf blading extravaganza, Mezzanine & Ankh present the second edition of the Summer Soul Roller Disco, and this time it’s bigger than ever. On Saturday June 13th nine iconic disco wizards by the name of Midnight Magic will be getting the party started and your hips shakin’ all night long.

When it comes to disco, this crew is untouchable. Midnight Magic first began making musical magic when original members Morgan Wiley and W. Andrew Raposo of Automato crossed paths with the alluring, funk goddess that is Tiffany Roth. Along the way, Andrew and Morgan honed their psychedelic craft with some of the best in the biz at DFA records. After working with several Mezzanine alumni such as LCD Soundsystem, Hercules & Love Affair and The Juan Maclean, the trio expanded their squad, summoning Fidelio’s Max Goldman and Carter Yasutake, as well as all-star musicians Jason Disu, Nick Roseboro, Caito Sanchez and Andrew Frawley, to Brooklyn, where they have been cooking up far-out, futuristic yet 70’s inspired jams.

Their cosmic disco anthems pack the dance floor, or the roller rink, faster than you can say get down! Which makes perfect sense seeing their personal desire is “to make you, the listener, and the rhythm, become one”. With punchy synths, groovy baselines, and Tiffany Roth’s undeniable voice in tracks like “Beam Me Up,” you will be sure to skate or dance along making some midnight memories of your own.

If you are a skating enthusiast, feel free to bring your own skates or blades, but for all the roller rookies, there will be rental skates available for FREE – first come first serve. But, make sure to arrive in style and a little early to confirm that you can snag a pair. So join us Saturday June 13th, as we carry on skating through summer at Mezzanine!
