The Unstoppable Busy P & Boston Bun

The name Busy P could not be any more appropriate for French powerhouse Pedro Winter. It would be unfair to label him as just a DJ, producer or entrepreneur, because this guy has really done it all. At the ripe age of 39, Winter has not only managed perhaps the most successful French Electronic group ever (yes, I am referring to Daft Punk,) but has also founded Ed Banger Records, a label that represents essentially every influential French artist in the game right now, such as Justice and Breakbot. Astounding? Yes. But, Winter is not done. While managing other acts and running a label, he has been honing his craft as a seasoned DJ under the guise of Busy P. While the Busy P sound is rooted in French Electro, Winter strays from the norm, by incorporating metal, rock and hip-hop influences, that can be heard in his remixes, such as his DSL “Space Invaders” and Fancy “What’s Your Name Again” reworks.

The most recent addition to the Ed Banger family tree is Boston Bun. He sort of stumbled upon electronic music when watching TV at the age of sixteen. His original plan was to be a director, so he studied Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx videos and soon started straying away from videos and began stepping into music production. BB only got his official start in 2011, but since Winter has taken him under his wing, he has kept busy like his boss, and released three EP’s (“Housecall”, “Flasher”, and “We Got Soul”) as well as a slew of notable remixes. His grind has been noticed by some of the biggest names in the industry, with plays on the notorious BBC radio 1, and features in various DJ sets, such as Duke Dumont and Boys Noize. This year, he plans to release three EP’s in a series called “Just For Freaks” and Volume 1 is already receiving praise from Mixmag and Fader Magazine.

While Busy P and Boston Bun are clearly doing just fine on their own, together they are unstoppable. They worked together to curate the Ed Banger 10 year anniversary compilation (Ed Rec Vol. X), released the super successful “You Should Know” Breakbot remix, and when they perform together live; it is impossible to not move your feet.
