Not many artists can say they worked with the likes of OG Ron C, Soulja Boy, and Diplo before getting signed. Riff Raff, real name Horst Christian Simco, has numerous mixtapes and collaborations under his belt already. And the June release of his first major label album “Neon Icon” on Diplo’s Mad Decent Records only saw Riff Raff expanding his horizons. Mac Miller, Paul Wall, Childish Gambino, Mike Posner, Slim Thug, and Amber Coffman are just the tip of the iceberg of people who worked on Neon Icon with RiffRaff.
Embracing the public’s misunderstanding of him, Riff Raff channeled that into creative energy and aimed to take it to epic proportions with his new album. Never one to do the expected, he even has a book in theworks. Not wanting to be confined to just a hip-hop or trap artist, Riff Raff says he wants to be an icon – the Neon Icon (XXL interview). And that’s what this whole album and tour are about. So come check out Riff Raff at Mezzanine on November 26th and let him take you to the next level, whatever that may be.
