Diaspora Arts Connection Presents:

We regret to inform you that the visa process for our artists, most of whom are traveling from Sweden, has been delayed and we now have to postpone the concert to another date later in 2017. We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and will issue refunds for your tickets.

We hope you would join us for a free (with RSVP) “Summer Kickoff Party” at Mezzanine (same date, same time, same place), and dance away the night with DJ Mian and DJ I-MaD. It would be a pleasure to see you at our celebration of summer and community! Please join us!

Diaspora Arts Connection

One of the most successful Iranian music groups of the 2000s, ABJEEZ were founded by Iranian sisters Safoura and Melody Safavi in Sweden. The two sisters along with their multinational band have a unique sound blending Iranian soul rhythms with reggae, rock, ska, and flamenco, singing in their native Farsi, plus English, Spanish and Swedish with lyrics touching sharply, at times humorously, on politics, love and everything in between. Critics have described Abjeez as the first Persian Speaking Reggae/Ska band. They truly are a cultural bridge between the East and West and beyond.
