Alvin Risk Can’t be Confined.

If there is a box, Alvin Risk is definitely not in it. The DJ/producer/singer is constantly showing off his musical imagination and innovation on his varied projects. Much of Risk’s productions tend to stem from dubstep and drum & bass origins, with EP’s like JunkFood providing straight up face-melting drops. But he can’t be confined. His EP, Two Strokes Raw, produced with Tittsworth, is a moombahton dream – featuring sweet Spanish melodies from singer Maluca. And his most recent EP, Venture, not only showcases his ridiculous production abilities, but also his incredible voice on every track.

With a studio album, five EPs, and countless remixes under his belt, it’s no wonder he’s garnered the attention of several collaborators such as Steve Aoki, and Kaskade. However, the most notable collaboration came from one of his personal inspirations, Skrillex. The pair have created a handful of songs together, including “Try It Out” a crowd favorite on the OWSLA tour, which featured Skrillex and Alvin Risk, as well as several other EDM stars such as Kill the Noise and Jack Beats.

While Alvin Risk may be the envy of many producers these days, he didn’t get here by sheer luck; he put in his hours and stuck by his motto, “grind” (Alvin Risk Reddit AMA). Well, it sure looks like it’s paying off. Come check out the many sounds of Alvin Risk as he performs Venture live January 31st at Mezzanine.
